ACEDS at Relativity Fest and Six Reasons Why You Need to Be There

  1. Sunday, September 30th – 5pm – CEDS Exam Prep
    This course preview of the CEDS Exam Prep will cover the left side of the EDRM. The last 30 minutes will be a Q&A session on the exam itself and eligibility. Attendees will receive a 20% discount code should they decide to sit for the exam. If you’ve been considering taking the exam, this is a perfect time to get started. This program will be Helen Moure Bergman, Principal at Lex Aperta.   2. Monday, October 1st – 2:20pm – eDiscovery Certifications: Why, Which and in What Order
    This session promises to help you gain a better understanding of the legal certification ecosystem. This session is perfect for those wanting to specialize in eDiscovery and more, or legal professionals who are increasingly seeking certifications such as the CIPP US/EU for privacy, the GLEG or CISSP for security, or CEDS. Certifications can certainly raise you to the top of the resume heap as these panelists will share. You may just come away thinking about a new career path. Certified panelists reprising their paths to their certs include: Sean Neilsen, Relativity; Jenna Rooney, Pre-Sales Engineer at Relativity, James Sherer, Partner at BakerHostetler and Mary Mack, Executive Director of ACEDS.. The session is moderated by Jared Coseglia, CEO and Founder of TRU Staffing Partners;
  3. Monday, October 1st – 5:00pm – Networking: How to Plug In – and We Aren’t Talking Hard Drives!
    Do you clam up at networking events? Do you find it difficult to interact with strangers at business events such as Relativity Fest? Come introverts! Come extroverts! Learn skills on how to fast track your networking time and come away with a number of new techniques to maximize your networking skill set.   4. Monday, October 1st – 6:30pm – ACEDS Cocktail Reception
    Put your fresh new networking skills to the test and join us on Monday evening. ACEDS will be hosting a Relativity sponsored huge Community Cocktail Reception at the Hilton in Salon A Foyer. Anyone with a Relativity pass is welcome to join us for an evening of meeting new friends and connecting with the old…friends, that is. Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and many special guests and luminaries will be on hand for what promises to be a great time.
  5. Tuesday, October 2nd – 11:10am – Fostering Inclusiveness: Promoting Diversity and Inclusion on Your eDiscovery Team
    Why does diversity matter in eDiscovery? What are some strategies for finding and retaining diverse team members? How should you present diversity initiatives to your internal organization and help them to understand why it’s so important? This session will cover these questions and more, delving deep into the truth that environments that provide openness and inclusion has been proven to drive team performance, innovation, and employee retention.   6. Tuesday, October 2nd – 2:20pm – State of the e-Discovery Union: A Roundtable on the Industry and the Profession
    Leading journalists, industry analysts, and legal experts will examine the current state of the eDiscovery market and the legal forces affecting the profession. Join us for a rousing discussion on just where the eDiscovery market is going, and what does the future hold for the legal professional who makes up the eDiscovery profession. Gayle O’Connor is a legal technology marketing consultant with 30+ years’ experience. She is the sole proprietor of GMO Marketing which provides marketing assistance to attorneys and legal vendors. She is an expert on social media, content marketing, speaking, and blogging. In 2018, Gayle was named as an honoree in the 5,000 strong membership of Women in eDiscovery.

Gayle has held a variety of positions including Marketing Director at Degen, Blanchard and Nash, a large law firm located in New Orleans, and has served as a marketing strategist for numerous legal software providers. Gayle was also the former trial technician for the federal public defenders Hells Angels case in Seattle, WA.

Throughout her career, Gayle has been a speaker at numerous conferences ranging from the New Zealand Law Society, the ABA, Access to Justice Foundation as well as local organizations such as bar associations and NBI CLE offerings.
